On 29 November 2025 the exhibition 'Parallel World' opened in Koumi Machi Kougen Museum. The paintings Yoko Enoki san and me made this summer are exhibited in a beautiful curated show. Our sketchbooks give a glimps in our working process. On a ten meter long wall the collaborative painting 'Got Lost' takes up half of the space, it is a map Yoko and me painted after walking in the local nature in Koumi during our residency this summer. We left the center open to call attention to the genocide in Palestine. We see our work as a response-abilty towards nature and communities. Next to the big painting our smaller works hang side by side, with impressions of the landscape and the weather.
I would like to thank Mr Nakajima san and everyone at the museum for their support and extend my gratitude to Akiko Horiuchi san for inviting me to their beautiful summer house with big painting studio.
Yoko san and me became friends when Yoko lived in Antwerp, where she studied painting. The paintings in this exhibition are a beautiful memory in our friendship and summer in Koumi.
